The War on Weeds

Rouse the Spouse and I put down a layer of cardboard between the raised beds, covering the undesirable grass and weeds. We had saved up boxes discarded from the office. Feels good to recycle them straight into the earth.

Look at the nice pile of mulch! We recently had some trees cut down to open up the sky and allow more sunshine into the garden. The mulch is totally fresh ... just starting to "work" and actually hot to handle. Just the thing to kill and keep out weeds between the beds.

We spread the mulch thickly over the cardboard. It's pleasantly cushy underfoot. I do love a neat and tidy garden path!
